Press On Nail Size Guide: How to Measure Your Nails

Not sure how to measure nails for press ons? Use a flexible measuring tape to measure the widest curved part of every natural nail in millimeters. Then match your measurements to the Auranailed press on nail size chart and choose your preferred shape and length.

STEP 1 · MEASURE

Measure the widest part of each nail

Use the soft measuring tape across the curved nail surface from sidewall to sidewall. Do not use a rigid ruler straight across.

MEASURE THE WIDEST POINT

Place the tape across the widest part of your natural nail, from sidewall to sidewall.

FOLLOW THE CURVE

Keep the tape snug against the nail's curve. Do not pull it tight.

RECORD ALL 10 NAILS

Measure every nail on both hands and record each width in millimeters.

CHOOSE YOUR SIZE

Compare your measurements with our size chart. If between sizes, choose the larger size.

Fit Tip: Measure each hand separately-your left and right nails may differ slightly. Measure the curved nail surface with the flexible tape; do not use a rigid ruler straight across.

①Place the tape

Set the 0 mm edge at one sidewall, across the widest part of your natural nail.

②Follow the curve

Keep the flexible tape snug against the nail surface. Do not pull it tight.

③Read in millimeters

Read the mark at the opposite sidewall and record the measurement.

④Measure all 10 nails

Measure both hands separately because matching fingers may differ slightly.

Fit tip: Measure twice and keep the tape snug—not tight. If two readings differ, place the tape at the widest point and measure again.

STEP 2 · MATCH

Match your measurements to a standard size

Compare your thumb, index, middle, ring and pinky measurements with the XS–L chart. Use measurements from both hands.
